10 Year Anniversary!
“Going Attractions: The Definitive Story of the American drive-in Movie” is an 85 min feature length documentary which chronicles the life story of the drive-in from its inception in 1933 though the peak in the late 50s, the decline in the 1980s, to the present day resurgence.
“Going Attractions” was independently released theatrically via direct bookings and played in over 60 indoor and outdoor theatres as well as film festivals in the U.S., Canada and Australia including the fabulous Egyptian Theatre in Los Angeles and Bengies Drive-in in Baltimore.
U.S. Box Office was $52,458 as reported by Box Office Mojo, a huge success for a theatrically released documentary, let alone an independently released documentary without the power of studio marketing behind it. The film ranks as #110 of top movies about the world of movies.
“Going Attractions” was featured on NPR, BBC World News, USA Today, the Chicago Tribune, CNN/Time, and the BBC series “Talking Pictures.” A clip from “Going Attractions” was featured in the Jennifer Aniston movie “Cake” for which she received a Golden Globe nomination.
