Twenty-one year old Jenny Cooke always romanticized the idea of traveling with a carnival like her parents did when they were young. When her father Riley starts a new carnival in the Northwest in 2016, she gets her chance. As he assembles a group of misfits and people living off the grid to continue this vestige of rural America, they struggle at first, but soon a new family has formed on the road.

Traveling with the carnival for multiple summers, we experience this unusual way of life in verite 'fly on the wall' style, and Jenny does follow in her parents footsteps when she gets engaged to Ryan, one of the “hands” they hired in the first town.
